SHUCK FAQ
The longstanding tradition of the Shuck has been successful for many years because people are generally on their best shucking behavior. We've got some good ideas for how you can enjoy the day and allow for the rest of us to do so as well!
Here are the FAQS!
- Does the Shuck cost money?
- We have a Venmo and a tip jar. We recommend $20/person in tips. You can "tip your wenches" or find the jar/Venmo
- Where do I park at the Shuck?
- Parking - please click here for the Parking guide.
- Can I walk to the game from the Shuck?
- YES!
- There's a path around the park that exits on 15th, and you can walk to the stadium from there.
- I don't have tickets, can I watch the game at the Shuck?
- YES!
- We will be streaming the game in case you don't have tickets. There will be people at the Shuck for the duration of the game.
- What kind of food is at the Shuck?
- The Shuck fam provides chili (beef and vegan options), tri-tip, oysters, and beverages to suit a variety of tastes.
- If you're interested in contributing food to the pot-luck, we recommend you bring enough to serve 40-60ppl. We have serving spoons/ladles/spatulas/tongs, but if you bring your own please label them so we can return to you. Any questions, ask Gina!
- What should I wear?
- Please dress for the weather and of course, your Oregon State Beavs!
- Shucker shirts are available for sale at the event in size 6mo to Adult 3XL, payable by cash or Venmo. Babies get their first Shuck shirt free!
- If you don't support the Beavs, stay neutral my friend. If you rep the team lining up opposite of the Beavs...you're still welcome to Shuck it up as long as you are prepared to lose gracefully.
- Are there bathrooms at the Shuck?
- YES!
- There are 3 actual bathrooms (not Honey Buckets) at the Thompson Shelter.
- The restrooms are ADA friendly.
- Is the Shuck kid friendly?
- YES!
- Keep in mind that as a grown up, you're responsible for kids you bring. Let them know they are in a public, open space. When it gets dark, it can be hard to see people far away from the shelter.
- There are usually kid-friendly food options as well as treat bags, but if your child needs something else we're not offended if you supply your own.
- Is the Shuck dog friendy?
- YES!
- Keep your pet leashed and ensure they are well socialized with other dogs and kids.
